The newly granted patents further strengthen the already world-leading portfolio of patents in anode materials for high-power and fast-charging lithium batteries.
Dallas, June 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Solidion Technology Inc. (“Solidion” or the “Company”) (Nasdaq: STI), an advanced battery technology solutions provider, today announced the grant 7 new US patentsBringing together the company’s IP portfolio 130 Only the United States holds patents on anode materials for lithium batteries.
Graphene-confined Si-rich composite anodes for lithium-ion batteries
Solidion’s silicon anode is designed to (i) provide long-term uptime for AI data centers on the ground or in space; (ii) extend the flight range of an unmanned aerial vehicle or unmanned aircraft; (iii) increase the operating time of the humanoid robot on one battery charge; and (iv) enable EV battery technology to lower cost and provide higher energy density, which significantly extends EV driving range.
One of the leading silicon anode materials worldwide is produced by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) of Si in the pores of very fine carbon particles. This technology has several major drawbacks, including the use of silane gas-based raw materials, which are rarely known in North America, are highly explosive, expensive, and challenging to manufacture, transport, and store. In addition, current porous carbon particles are unable to accept more than 50% silane-derived Si in their pores, which significantly compromises the achievable cell energy density.
Solidion’s patented Si anode technology overcomes these technical and economic barriers using an innovative combination of three strategies:
(1) High energy density: Well-designed porous graphene balls can easily accommodate up to 90% Si in the graphene/Si composite;
(2) Low cost: safe, fast and low-cost low-cost silane-free process; And
(3) Locally sourced raw materials (no supply-chain disruption)For example, graphene is produced by Solitian’s affiliate (Global Graphene Group) from biomass abundant in North America.
