The Beast is considered the best glasses for gaming and movie watching for two main reasons. These glasses use Sony’s popular micro OLED panels with a resolution of 1920×1200 per eye, simulating 4K resolution on a large virtual screen. The Beast can display screen sizes up to 175″. Integrated Vision 3DoF lets you resize your screen with your fingers. Flat prism lenses offer a wide and ultra-fast 58-degree FOV, a native 120Hz refresh rate that delivers buttery-smooth motion, and 1 peak brightness, 200 peak brightness.
Other features include a 9-level dimming and transparency mode, integrated Harman AudioEFX open-ear speakers, real-time 2D to 3D conversion and 70mm IPD adjustment. The frame is made of aluminum-magnesium alloy and weighs 88 grams.
IGN’s Jackie Thomas reviewed the glasses and rated them positively, with some qualification, commenting, “The VITURE Beast XR glasses are a great way to bring a giant gaming monitor with you wherever you go, even if fiddly controls and blurry text stop them from being full-time display contenders.”
VITURE Luma is the productivity glasses for choice
Luma is available in three different variants: Standard, Pro and Ultra. If you’re looking for glasses that offer maximum productivity, you should splurge on the Lumia Ultra. This is the only model with full 6DoF and hand tracking. Plus, it’s bright at 1,500nits. If you like Some Tracking but not requiring bells and whistles, the Luma Pro will save you some money and still provide 3DoF tracking. Finally, if you don’t need any kind of tracking (for example, you use a mouse and keyboard, gamepad, or remote), then the Luma XR offers excellent value without the tracking features.
Besides the increased brightness at Ultra, all three glasses are equipped with the same Sony Micro-OLED panels with 1200p resolution per eye and can project up to a 152″ virtual screen. The Luma glasses are actually sharper than the Beast for two reasons. First, the Lumas use Birdpath lenses. Spot”). Second, Luma has a smaller FOV, but maintains the same pixel count, higher pixel density, so text is sharper. A smaller FOV is less immersive, but a sharper image is more important for productivity work.
